Dolomite Sand

Other names: Marble Sand, Calcium Magnesium Carbonate, White Sand.

Mesh sizes available: All custom mesh sizes are available on large orders.
Uses:
Dolomite due to it’s large scale availability, whiteness and non toxic nature, is extensively used in many products. Dolomite is used in paint industry as a filler. Due it’s hardness, it gives a good scratch resistance to the paint. And as it is white in colour it does not interfere with the actual colour of the pigment to be showcased. It’s also comparatively not heavy in nature which makes it not settle in paints. Dolomite is used as an additive agent in the production of glass, bricks, ceramics etc. Addition of which gives a high level of process stability, good viscosity and scratch resistance in glass. In bricks, dolomite is used as a source of magnesium metal and magnesia (MgO) which gives high refractoriness in the bricks. Raw glazes applied on the ceramic bodies consists of dolomite as well and hence it serves ceramic industry as well.

We Vstake Solution Pvt. Ltd are Manufacturers, Suppliers, Provider, Wholesaler, Trader, Dealer, Exporters of Dolomite Sand. Dolomite sand is a type of sand that is primarily composed of dolomite, a carbonate mineral made up of calcium magnesium carbonate (CaMg(CO3)2). It is often found in natural deposits and has various industrial and construction applications. Here are some key details about dolomite sand:

  1. Composition: Dolomite sand is primarily composed of dolomite mineral grains, which contain varying proportions of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and carbonate ions (CO3^2-). The exact composition can vary depending on the source and geological conditions.
  2. Appearance: Dolomite sand typically has a light gray to tan color, and it often appears as fine to coarse grains of sand.
  3. Formation: Dolomite is formed through the replacement of calcium ions in limestone or calcium-rich sediments with magnesium ions over geological time. This process is known as dolomitization.
  4. Environmental Considerations: The extraction of dolomite sand, like other mining activities, can have environmental impacts, including habitat disruption and changes in water quality. Responsible mining practices and environmental assessments are important to mitigate these impacts.
  5. Variability: The properties of dolomite sand can vary based on its source and geological history. Different sources may have variations in chemical composition, grain size, and impurity content.
  6. Availability: Dolomite sand is typically found in regions where dolomite rock formations are present. Common sources include sedimentary deposits and geological formations where dolomitization has occurred.
  7. Safety Considerations: When handling dolomite sand or powdered dolomite, it's important to take safety precautions. Inhalation of dust particles from dolomite can be harmful to the respiratory system, so proper protective measures should be taken.
